Travelling with Assistance Animals

Assistance animals are not pets - they are working partners. Here's how we support their travel alongside you.

Last updated: April 2026

Our commitment

Mosook recognises assistance animals as essential mobility and medical aids, not travel companions. When you book with us, your assistance animal travels with dignity alongside you - we coordinate directly with airlines, hotels, and ground transport to ensure zero friction at every touchpoint.

What qualifies as an assistance animal

  • Service dogs

Trained to perform specific tasks for a person with a disability - guide dogs, hearing dogs, mobility assistance dogs, and medical alert dogs.

  • Psychiatric service dogs

Trained to mitigate a psychiatric or neurological disability through specific tasks such as interruption of harmful behaviours or retrieval of medication.

  • Emotional support animals

Provide comfort and companionship but are typically treated as pets by most airlines. We'll advise on airline-specific policies during booking.

Documentation you'll need

  • Medical certification

A letter from your licensed healthcare provider describing the disability and the tasks your assistance animal is trained to perform.

  • Training credentials

Certification from a recognised assistance-animal training organisation or proof of owner-training where permitted.

  • Veterinary records

Up-to-date vaccinations, rabies certificate, microchip number, and a fitness-to-fly letter issued within 10 days of departure.

  • Destination-specific permits

Import permits, quarantine exemptions, and entry clearances vary by country. We'll prepare the full checklist once your itinerary is confirmed.

When you book with Mosook

Let your travel advisor know about your assistance animal at the start of the booking conversation. We'll confirm airline approval, request bulkhead or accessible seating, secure pet-friendly accommodations where the hotel cannot exempt the animal from pet policies, and pre-arrange accessible ground transport.

Fees and charges

Recognised assistance animals travel free on most major carriers under local disability regulations. Mosook never charges a booking surcharge for an assistance animal. If a third-party provider imposes a fee, we'll surface it transparently before confirming your itinerary.
